1. Are these drinks as dangerous as the critics maintain? How much of the problem is due to the high levels of caffeine, how much is due to the labeling and marketing and how much is caused by irresponsible behavior on the part of young people? Are companies like Joose and four Loko being singled out for social problems that are much wider in scope, in particular, alcohol abuse by young people?
In my opinion, these drinks are as dangerous as what the critics’ claims to be. It is very dangerous mixing these energy drinks and alcohol together because the caffeine helps to cover up the effects of alcohol. For instance, if a person trying to deceive someone thinking that they are not drunk when they are drunk. In many cases shows in news and media that consuming a certain amount of mixture of both alcohol beverages and caffeine could lead a to a severe health damage to the body. Even if the caffeinated drinks serve no ‘socially redeeming purpose’; this beverage have no reason to not permit it as a product to be sold. We as a human being have the rights to buy and choose the products we want whether it is good or bad for their health. People have the mind of their own which can differentiate what is rightfully right or wrong, therefore, if the majority of the people want to buy these product, it is clearly seen as majority of the people are choosing to put their body and health in jeopardy. Therefore, I think that before the ban the product, they should lower the caffeine levels and changing the design of the appearance of the packaging which may show a different
