Gun Control
There is much fighting going on in the United States between advocates and opponents of carrying guns. It is no hidden fact that official authorities all over the United States are under more pressure than ever before to exercise strict ban on all kinds of weapons. More educational institutions have united to instigate this pressure to ban guns. Although each state has different gun laws, still banning guns remains a sizzling national policy. My position on the subject of gun control is that the assumption that a ban enforced on gun possession would plummet down violent crime rates is an empty mockery, as there is no concrete connection between gun control and peace. Such regulations cannot put a stop to tragedies because they are themselves tragic. Gun control cannot kill violence because it will serve to spread violence. This is because enforcing such a ban is equal to the notion of introducing modifications in the law that is supported by a majority of the public. The process of curbing violence is not as simple as going ahead and putting a ban on gun ownership. It goes much deeper than that as it requires “serious attempts to understand how guns get into their hands in the first place” (Johnson). It can be very difficult to stop or control the crime of gun trafficking, as a different kind of rule would be required for each different technique used by a person to acquire a gun. The gun control advocates do not show any sign of leaving the issue, as they are determined on having a ban enforced on gun ownership rights. The problem is that the United States regulatory system is filled with loopholes. In the absence of regulatory checks, violently reckless people in the country become able to get a gun.
