The Second Amendment states that the right of citizens to own weapons shall not be taken away from the people. This is a right of the people, therefore the government has no authority in taking away this right without violating the Constitution. However, recently there have been movements towards riding this Amendment and no longer allowing guns and weapons to be owned by citizens of the United States. Limiting or even eliminating entirely the ability to own a weapon will cause a plethora of negative effects that offset the benefits of doing away with weapons, therefore there is no reason to abolish the right to own a gun. Scientific studies show that weapons are not biological beings, and that they can not commit crimes without the interaction with a human. In addition, outlawing weapons will cause crime rates to increase tenfold, as weapons will be discreetly owned at higher rates. In contrast, weapons such as guns are statistically shown to cause more crimes, including murders, when gun bans are enacted, and the opposite is true when no gun bans are executed; therefore, we must not as a, political leader and candidate, enforce gun-bans, rather we must uphold the written laws of the U.S.
