Hugh, being the kind of person that he is, initially thinks there is no other choice than to return the money, but he begins to really think about what he should do. He realizes that if he gives the money back, then he will be saying goodbye to any chance of turning his life around. He tries to convince himself that keeping the money is the right thing to do, saying, “God made this money—the fresh air, too—for his children's use. He never made the difference between poor and rich” (Davis 23). He also thinks about how much his life would improve if he keeps the money: “A man,—he thought, stretching out his hands,—free to work, to live, to love!
Alan, Betty, and Charlie were long-time friends and grew drained of the day-to-day routine. Alan had a dream where three men went into the national bank and robbed the bank for $1,000,000.00. Although at first, it seemed like a joke, Betty and Charlie believed they should put the dream into reality. The plan was, to have Alan and Charlie enters the bank with fake guns, while Betty waited in the car outside to drive away and act as a lookout. During the robbery, even though they used fake guns a customer standing in line pulled out a gun and shot Charlie.
My favorite sentence from this reading had to be, "The arms were in sad shape, because everybody was always sitting on them, but they were pretty comfortable chairs." (Salinger 18). In the short sentence, I furthermore get a glimpse of Holden's voice and personality, this time by seeing him contradict himself. He describes how sad looking and beat up the chair is, yet goes on to say how nice and comfortable it is. This to me is a very important clue to Holden's overall personality in regard to life.

Mama made a smaller decision to give Walter $500 more than Benetha. She felt as though, with the new baby coming, Walter and Ruth may need the money more than Benetha. The remaining $3,500 was for Walter and his family.
Argumentative Essay for The Outsiders To know your favorite characters first-hand is something that everyone wishes they could do. Whether they be characters from books, movies, or other works, all of us like to imagine life within a fictional world with fictional characters. However, some people in these works are not favorites, so we wish we could exterminate them. The Outsiders’ characters are unique in ways beyond explanation, yet they are very relatable. In this book, the perfect example of a best friend is Ponyboy Curtis, the best example of a frenemy is Dallas Winston, and an excellent example of someone you would exterminate is Steve Randle.
People always look back to the past with memories they cherish. In The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger, Holden is no different. In this book, the character Holden looks back to happier times and doesn't like things changing. Holden's main conflict is wanting things to stay the same or to go back to how they were in the past; through the way Holden talks about things and the way people were in the past. Salinger suggests that Holden does not want things and people to change, and he wants to be able to go back to the way things were.
Every child comes into this world as a selfish, manipulative, cruel and stubborn being. It is the parents and society that teaches children how to function in a civilized world, and societal laws that keeps them under control. William Golding wrote this novel in the early years of the cold war and the atomic age. In William Golding's classic novel Lord of the Flies, Golding uses Jack, a young savage who looks to lead a group of stranded kids on an island with no food, no rules, and no adults. The effect freedom has on Jack has turned him into a savage because he does not have to listen to anyone since there are no adults on the island.
What about abortion gets people so mad and tense? Abortion has two major points of view on the topic, pro-choice and pro-life. Someone on the side of pro-choice would argue that it is the choice of the mother and no one not even the government should have control over that. A pro-life supporter would argue that from the moment of conception the fetus is alive and therefore the abortion is considered murder. It is very important to look at the topic from both sides to fully understand why the topic has been stressed over for so long.
