In the United States, collegiate sports bring millions of dollars annually into the schools who play them. Majority of schools has massive endorsement deals from the top brands like Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, and Russell so that they wear their product, and gain the school and the company national and international attention. Another is sponsorships that company’s and business pay to have their name on some part of the campus. Also, the majority of smaller schools if they did not receive the national attention from sports team they would not know nationally. Dr. Larry Davis the chancellor of the University Arkansas Community College at Morrilton we need a sports program because gain national exposure, increase student enrollment, and create another junior college in the state of Arkansas. Therefore, by creating a sports program at University Arkansas Community at Morrilton the university would gain national exposure and be more commonly known. In similarly, the closest junior college with sports in the area that UACCM serves would be Arkansas Baptist located in Little Rock and is famous for the finical issues has had past few years. Also, been common in the past years that teachers and faculty at Arkansas Baptist went weeks without receiving paychecks. Nevertheless, this area is losing large amounts of students that have the physical abilities to play division one or two but lacks the academics to play. UACCM could fill that gap of players that fall through the cracks and be highly completive. The college could fill the void that is a desperate need in the state of Arkansas.
