Freshman year, I took an interest in my high school debate team. Specifically in congressional debate, a competitive establishment that requires students to deliver speeches based on a certain topics in a group setting. One must argue their stated side or listen to be able to determine their concluding opinion. Beginning as a novice, felt like entering a whole new world; especially when competing with varsity members with multiple years of experience. Difficulties would emerge when competing with varsity debaters who seemed fluent and highly intelligent, which led to self-doubt and an increase in nerves.

The political parties are the heart and brain of our government's body, urging people to conceive and feel different ways on different topics whether the controversy is over how money is distributed or the way immigrants should be treated or dealt with. With each party having a biased view it shows how a group can be increasingly powerful with bountiful amounts of support, names and divisions can be heard.
