First of all in 1970s research found out that Daylight Savings time save about 1%perday in energy savings. Again, this follows right along with Ben Franklin’s argument over 200 years ago. Second supporters of Daylight savings time also clam that more sunlight saves lives.
Last night I went to bed at about 9:00 PM, which is about one hour and thirty minutes earlier than my daily goal for this week. I plan to continue this "earlier than my goal" behavior for it preps me for what is coming (Daylight Savings Time). I have been keeping track of my behavior through journaling my bed time. I am really looking forward to Saturday because if I continue achieving my daily goal of "no later than 10:30" for this week, I will reward myself with a cup of coffee in the
Daylight savings time is supposed to promote safety like decreased crime, the reason for this was that there was more light in the evening. Daylight Saving Time Daylight saving time (DST) is the time which is adjusted to achieve longer evening daylight, in summer, by setting the clocks an hour ahead of the standard time. One day you wake up glad because you got an extra hour of sleep, and just six months later you wake up sad because you lost an hour of sleep. Twice a year, every year, we face a change in time construction and in our daily schedule, causing a dramatic shift in our regular routines. Daylight Savings is a controversial topic that has caused great uprising regarding its usefulness. Despite some of its benefits, the Daylight Savings time change is unnecessary due to its direct impact on society’s well being and it’s ineffective purpose.
Losing sleep is never fun, and Daylight Saving Time (DST) doesn’t help. This practice really needs to go, and there are plenty of reasons why. The most obvious one is inconvenience. Resetting clocks and fixing schedules is extremely irritating, not to mention losing that comfortable hour of sleep in the spring. Productivity is also lowered because those few minutes spent changing clocks could have been spent doing something else, like homework.
The minutes spent to perform this task is a waste of productivity and money. “According to the Lost-Hour Economic Index, moving the clocks forward has a total cost to the US economy of $434 million nationally, factoring in health issues, decreased productivity, and workplace injuries” (Sleep Better). Daylight saving time does have a more negative effect on those who participate. Daylight saving time is causing more fatalities, health issues, and a decrease on companies income.
For most Americans, spring and fall bring an often dreaded task: the changing of our clocks. In spring, we move our clocks forward an hour, and in fall we move them back an hour. Proponents of daylight saving say changing our clocks means less energy usage in our homes. However, studies show that the amount of energy we save is debatable; further, the potential negative effects on our health alone should motivate state governments to strongly consider abandoning daylight saving altogether.
Daylight saving is helpful for humans because it gives consumers more daylight hours to shop. Many people believe that daylight savings is something that we don’t need because they don’t like waking up to it being dark and gloomy and having to go to work or school in that mood. According
