If there was a dangerous disease hurting everyone, the government would do everything in their power to stop it. One example is that large acts of violence and terrorism often use guns and legal weapons. Another example is that many incidents occur from young children or inexperienced adults using guns. Finally, it would be safer if there was more gun control. Today, anyone can obtain a gun regardless of their background or histories. On the other hand, there are also many reasons why stricter gun control policies would be an issue. To begin with, stricter gun control policies would violate a second amendment right, and therefore would be unconstitutional. The second amendment states that citizens have the right to bear arms. Additionally, stricter gun control laws would not altogether prevent crimes from occurring. There are numerous types of crimes that can occur without the use of a gun. Lastly, guns help assist women and the elderly with defending themselves against aggressors. Some women and elderly may lack the strength to defend themselves against someone with a gun or someone very muscular.
