When it comes to the controversial topic of abortion I feel that this is a complex debate. On one side you have Pro Life and on the other you have Pro Choice. Advocates of Pro Life argue that all life is precious and that it's shouldn't be up to an individual to make the determination of whether they should be allowed to seek an abortion no matter what the cause. They also argue that it should be up to the universe and mother nature to make that determination on whether that the unborn child should be born no matter what the circumstances. In 1821 Connecticut passed the first laws banning abortions after quickening. For those that are not familiar with the terminology Quickening can be defined as the moment in pregnancy in which a women begins to feel life and movement of the fetus. Shortly after that many states began to follow suit and place restriction if not complete outlaw abortions all together. By 1880 all states had abolished abortion and so started the prohibitions of abortions, however the prohibition of of abortions didn't stop the regular practice of abortions, although just made them even more dangerous this is the period of time that is referred to as the back alley abortions. Many women lost their lives when back alley abortions the only way they could obtain them, many individuals that preformed these procedures were unqualified or lowly educated with poor access to sterile facilities and tools and women paid serverly for it .
