Choice is the freedom to select or make a decision when faced with two or more possibilities to better one’s own life. Each person should have the freedom to make decisions that are best for themselves. Wouldn’t all people want the freedom to make their own decision affecting their own lives instead of having someone tell them that they can’t or have to do something? It is hard to imagine that someone would give up their freedom to choose but it happens every day when people in government decide to limit the choice of American people. However being pro-choice is not on everyone’s agenda, many Americans are against being pro-choice. The essence of politics is the controversy and conflict derived from the interest groups' activities. The competition among them will help the policy-making process. The government plays an active role in establishing the conditions for interest groups to act. Groups who are threatened will take action.” (Truman) The NARAL has a clear purpose they strive to fight for women’s rights to choose in their sexual reproduction. The ARAL, which is now NARAL, consist of 7 women, now the organization has over a million supporters. The ARAL form to protest against anti-abortion groups and fight for women’s rights to have a safe option in their reproductive health. NARAL, pro-choice, has many groups that oppose their view, there are anti-abortion groups across the nation that do not agree with the values that this organization represents. Pro-Choice and Pro-Life groups are both single interest groups that support their own values and these groups both have a fair number of supports that back the ideals of the main organizations. Both Pro-Choice and Pro-Life have many supporters and many times it depends on who is in government and if they back one side or the other determines which group wins
