Cancer has taken a serious and very devastating effect on my family due to my Aunt’s deadly breast cancer. My aunt’s cancer caused her to chemotherapy, a treatment process that causes nausea, weight loss, and extreme loss in appetite. My aunt read articles on the internet about different types of cures for these devastating side effects, and found one recommended treatment; marijuana. Medical marijuana has been used for hundreds of years and has been proven to work, so my aunt went to the doctor and got prescribed marijuana. The marijuana helped her nausea, appetite, pain, and sleep for the better. Marijuana is very beneficial for cancer patients and facts prove it is more beneficial then harmful.
Many cancer patients who use medical marijuana say it has been used for achieving euphoria, relieving stress, and raising appetite. If marijuana were legalized, it would benefit the community’s health and if the T.H.C. were utilized to its most beneficial medicinal purposes, it would benefit many. Many jails all over America are overcrowded and this has been a proven issue and if marijuana were legalized, it would open more opportunities for workers in society. There are many drug dealers who are gang affiliated who illegally sell marijuana to users since dispensaries are not legal. If we legalized it, crime rates would decrease dramatically and it would put more money into circulation and would save the US Justice system money. “Some experts have begun to argue that the U.S. drug war, which cost an estimated $35 billion a year, has had a minimal impact on consumption of illicit substances”, if made legalized, we can make this so-called crime into a thriving business in our nation
