America is the worlds #1 country people from all over the world choose to immigrate to. They build their lives, but why exactly do so many people who want to leave their country decide to come to America specifically? Is it for the access to free education, the food, opportunities, or is there no objective? This sudden surge of idealizing Americans seems to make people blind to serious problems within the USA. While America is definitely not the “worst” country, it is a country that was never really our country to begin with. A country that's development was dependent on people who never got recognized as people. The same people whose lavish lifestyle was due to the exploitation of those who actually lived by the American Dream. The American …show more content…

An example of the blatant classism concerning the American dream exhibits is, “To most individuals, rising above one's circumstances through perseverance has become increasingly difficult and is limited to the upper classUs citizens maintain that in order for their children to become successful in modern society, they must graduate from costly universities.” (Gale#3). If the only way to boost one's social class is to spend money that ceases to exist, how will the lower and middle classes rise up the ladder? They won't. The American dream was not made taking into consideration middle and lower classes because it wasn't made for people who aren't of high class. An alternative demographic the American dream is not built for, is immigrants. An example of this is, “some found themselves living in the same poverty they were trying to escape“ (Gale#4). According to the dream that is said to be true, those who work hard will prosper in return, so why is it that this logic doesn't apply to immigrants? It’s because the idea that American people will have a great deal of affluence in return for their hard work was not made possible by immigrants becoming American citizens. The American dream is one so sought out by millions of people, but even if those who are opulent achieve all the status in the world, America and its economy itself will prevent
