To what extent was the Battle for Kokoda a Disaster? Lauren Knappstein – Year 10 History – Ms Felgate-Pearce The Battle of Kokoda was to a large extent a disaster for the Japanese army fighting in the war. The whole Invasion failed and caused major devastation to Japan and the Japanese soldiers fighting for expansion and supplies. After being through starvation, fatigue and so much devastation, the Kokoda was a true disaster for Japan.
David Koresh, real name Vernon Wayne Howell was born August 17, 1959 in Houston Texas to his teenage mother Bonnie Clark. He was initially raised by his grandparents in the suburbs of Garland Texas where he attended Garland High School, and the Church of Seventh Day Adventist (Bio.com). He soon dropped out of Highschool just before his senior year to work at a carpentry, then he spent a short time of his 20s in Los Angeles trying to pursue becoming a rock star. When that did not work he returned to Houston where he was kicked out of his church.
Sundiata, the first king of Mali began the Keita dynasty where the title "Mansa" was used to identify someone \a, part of the dynasty. Mansa Musa, a 14th century Mali king, was a part of the Keita dynasty. He was born in either the late 13th century or early 14th century and little is known about his early life. However, the life and reign of Sundiata allows for a better understanding of the rule of Mansa Musa. Sundiata laid the foundation for Mansa Musa to make Mali a place of great prosperity ("Sundiata").
This new American State will be called Monkaushka derived from the Native American term: trembling earth or earthquake. The people that live in this state are incredibly friendly people who have a tendency to be outspoken with their beliefs and warm in their hearts. They are homely folk who tend not to leave their close knit areas for too long. There is an folk tale that crawls around the towns that no one has ever left this state; only those who weren’t born here can come and go. You would think that is ridiculous, but the landscape that this state resides on is unlike any other state and can verify the legend for many people.

Kamehameha was a great leader, his name meant “the lonely one”, that wasn’t even his real name, his birth name was Pai’ea.
The Kampa family originally resided in Poland, Germany. The city they lived in was Newowein in Poland, Germany. The adults of the family were named Frank Kampa and Agnes Brenny. Both of them were wood cutters. Frank and Agnes married on May 3, 1883.

The Asian wood block print art period started occurring in the 17th into the mid19th century. It first started in japan. The art looked very realistic and a lot of these paintings are quite colorful most of them are prints of japan people or like a japan bridge. The art is very different it’s not like most art.

Kublai Khan- The Khan of all Khans Kublai Khan, the grandson of the great Genghis Khan, was a Mongolian leader in the middle to late 13 hundreds. Kublai Khan worked his entire life enlarging the already vast Mongol Empire his grandfather had created. By 1260, Kublai, aged 45, had assumed the role of the Khan, that is, the Khan who ruled all other Khans. Following in the footsteps of Genghis, he fought, eventually conquered China, and ousted the Song dynasty.

Taha Hussein is well renowned Egyptian author; he was born on Nov. 15, 1898 and died in Cairo on Oct 28, 1973. Hussein’s childhood was very harsh and unhappy as he lost his eyesight at age of three by a barber who was a local practitioner. This disability affected him as he was mistreated and bullied by his peers in school and his parents inadvertently treated him as a liability due to his illness. However, Hussein overcame his obstacles and flew to France to finish his education after he took his bachelor in University of Cairo. He was the first Egyptian to receive a PhD from Sorbonne, France.
