According to this famous quote from Martin Luther king jr “The saying’ Hate begets hate; violence begets violence; toughness begets a greater toughness. We must meet the forces of hate with the power of love” (Martin Luther king ,1958) Was there even a need for something named civil-rights movement shouldn’t it be-all rights shouldn't everybody have the same rights to think, feel, love and care. Why should it matter that their skin is darker, light, or very pale we all were created the same way entered the world with the same trials and tribulations this country was forced on equal justice and liberty for all. the federal government made legislative headway with initiatives such as the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the Civil Rights Act of 1968. Many leaders from within the African American community and beyond rose to prominence during the Civil Rights era, including Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, bobby Seale, Howie newton, Thurgood Marshall and others.
