Key Events In The Civil Rights Movement

It doesn’t matter what color you are, we all bleed the same. The Civil Rights Movement began in the 1950s-1960s. Some of the purposes of the Civil Rights Movement was to receive justice and equal rights for African americans under the law. African Americans who were not treated right or equal because of their skin color were clearly affected by this. Because an African American woman, Rosa Parks, was arrested for not moving to the back of the Montgomery bus, this led to the boycott of the bus company. This incident certainly played a major factor in the Civil Rights Movement.”Darkness Cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate only love can do that.”(“ Martin Luther King Jr.Quotes” ) Since Jackie Robinson, Sojourner Truth, and Katherine Johnson where all courageous, they played a major part in the Civil Rights Movement.
Jackie Robinson was the first African American to play baseball. He was an amazing baseball player who broke the racial color barrier for baseball. Because Jackie was an outspoken opponent

Without those three important people African Americans may not be able to play baseball, women may not have all equal rights, and today may not be the same. Through all of the pain they went through they still bravely fought for what was right. These amazing people really made a difference which is why we should all be thankful. “ There is no noises as powerful as the sound of the marching feet of determined people.” (“Martin Luther King Jr. Papers Project Quote”) I chose that specific quote because Jackie, Katherine, and Sojourner were all very determined, which made this quote so much more meaningful. Although Jackie Robinson, Katherine Johnson, and Sojourner Truth did so much in the Civil Rights Movement, you can certainly help too because there is so many more issues we need to fix
