I believe that Darren Wilson did not legally kill Michael Brown. The two black men, including Michael Brown are at fault for the incident. Wilson only followed his duty as a police officer. However, Brown responded inappropriately, leading to his death. One morning in Fegurson, Missouri, Darren Wilson was on his way to lunch as he spotted two black men on the streets.
One of the most infamous situations, which was one of the first highly publicized police brutality cases, was the murder of Michael Brown. Brown was an 18-year-old man from Ferguson, Missouri. The article “The police officer who killed 15-year-old Jordan Edwards has been charged with murder” was written by German Lopez and Published on Vox in May 5, 2017. The grand jury was not able to go off of witness statements being they became contradicting to each other. Witnesses stated that “Officer Wilson had first got out of his vehicle and then began firing, while another witness had stated that Wilson had stayed inside the vehicle and began firing. ”(Eyder Peralta, Krishnadev Calamur, 2014). This is essential because it proves that witness statements are not always reliable, a lot of the time the witness becomes flustered and only recalls what they feel happened when the situation occurred. When interviewed by George Stephanopoulos on ABC news, Darren Wilson stated that “Michael brown had started to attack Wilson; witnesses stated that Wilson had pulled Michael Brown into his vehicle, but Wilson soon responded with, that would be a violation of my training.

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, you are here because one person in this courtroom decided to take law into her own hands. The defendant, Mrs. Dominique Stephens, murdered the man that she vowed to love. This sole act by the defendant is violation of all morals and her husband’s right to live. Afterwards, she even felt guilty about this violation of justice and called the cops on herself, and she later signed a written statement stating that she is guilty of the murder of Mr. Donovan Stephens. Then the defendant later recanted this statement and said that she only killed Mr. Stephens in self defense.
