The issue of the Ferguson case has been creating a lot of commotion in the news lately. People are angered about the court ruled decision of not indicting Officer Darren Wilson of murder. This topic has stirred a lot of commotion because, people believe that officer Wilson should have been charged with murder for the unjustifiable act of killing 18 year old Michael Brown, yet others believe that his actions were completely justifiable, it was stated that he was only defending himself from what he believed was a hostile situation. In my opinion, I believe that he should have been indicted with murder just as any other normal person would have. The grand jury was not able to go off of witness statements being they became contradicting to each other. Witnesses stated that “Officer Wilson had first got out of his vehicle and then began firing, while another witness had stated that Wilson had stayed inside the vehicle and began firing.”(Eyder Peralta, Krishnadev Calamur, 2014). This is essential because it proves that witness statements are not always reliable, a lot of the time the witness becomes flustered and only recalls what they feel happened when the situation occurred. When interviewed by George Stephanopoulos on ABC news, Darren Wilson stated that “Michael brown had started to attack Wilson; witnesses stated that Wilson had pulled Michael Brown into his vehicle, but Wilson soon responded with, that would be a violation of my training.
