Imagine you are a cop and you pull up to some rather tall and large teenagers and ask them not to walk in the middle of the street. When noticing that one of the teenager fits the description of a robbery suspect from a robbery that took place earlier that day. That is when you start asking the teenager questions based on the description given from the store owner that had been robbed. When you see the rage in his face you decide to call in for back up. He opens the door and fights you for your gun. In the struggle two shots were fired and he runs off. As you get out of the car he once again turns at you aggressively. Knowing as a police officer if you feel your life is in danger you are allowed to take any means necessary, so that is what you do. What would you do? The black community is in an uproar protesting that the shooting death of Michael Brown is racist because Wilson is white and Brown is black. The people of Ferguson feel that Officer Wilson targeted Michael Brown because statistics show that it is what the police in Fergus intend to do. The African-American population makes up 67% of the people in Ferguson between 2012 and 20 14 93% of the people arrested were African-Americans one man claimed racism because he was given a ticket for having an expired license and not processing a license at all this caused him to lose his job as a contractor (Reifowitz). If most of the crimes leading to arrests are committed by African-Americans it does not mean it is from racist cops. It does not mean the people arrested are innocent. It just means they don't care if they break the law. If Mike Brown followed the police officer’s orders and didn’t charge the officer in an aggressive manner the outcome would have been different. Unfortunately, Michael Brown's actions caused his death, not racism
