Numerous people own firearms and pose no threat to public safety. However, when individuals with a history of violence, substance abuse, and serious mental illness can access firearms due to the existing gun laws, the risk of deadly violence increases greatly. Guns should only be in the battlefield and not in the schools, movie theaters, churches, and communities.
To make gun laws make more sense to people, a culture of gun safety should be established. Mandatory training and licensing along with safe and secure gun storage. Thus, this training should not be a one-time thing (Frum, 2012). Gun owners should be required to regularly refresh their training and renew their permits, with requirements at least severe as those governing renewal
