Before taking this ethics course, I was really questioning if this course would benefit me as a future healthcare professional or make me a better person. Throughout this semester, I have learned about many different philosophers. Some philosophers, I knew very little about and some that I have never heard of before. After reading and learning about the many philosophers, the three philosophers that I felt contributed to me becoming an educated citizen were Aristotle, John Stuart Mills, and Sarcrates.

Aristotle’s views help me become an effective communicator in my personal life as well as a future healthcare professional due to his ethos, pathos, and logos logic. Ethos is my credibility. As a future healthcare professional, if I am not credibly then patients will not believe, act, or trust what I am saying so by practicing ethos I will be showing my competency to my patients through communication which will have a major impact on the quality of care when it comes to my patients and in my personal life, being an effective communicator will help the message that I am delivering to be clear and understood by the person that I am communicating with. Aristotle’s logos logic is what helps me engage in a person’s sense of reasoning. Aristotle’s logos reasoning will help me view the logic behind someone’s question and answer and as a future healthcare professional; it will help me explain the methods of what could be causing their illness or pain and why they should follow through with the doctor’s recommendation for treatments.
