Introduction
There are hundreds of organizations throughout the world. Organizations vary in size, and can be made up of just a few people or thousands of people. Every organization has a different goal or agenda. However, they share one common factor: people working together to accomplish the mission. The United States Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) is no different. The goal of this paper is to discuss USAREC as an organization, its purpose, and how I fit into its operations.
What is your organization and what is its main purpose?
USAREC is a component of the U.S. Army. While the U.S. Army was founded June 14, 1775, USAREC, in its current form, was not established until October 1, 1964 (U.S. Army Recruiting Command History, 2004).

I utilize the resources available to me to teach young Americans, as well as my local communities about the Army, its role in protecting the United States and the benefits of military service. Once I have engendered a commitment from these future soldiers, I assist them in the enlistment process. During the enlistment process, it is my job to ensure their birth certificate, high school diploma, driver license, and social security card are properly uploaded in to the computer system. Other responsibilities include: building a packet with their entire medical, work, and criminal history. I explain the job opportunities available to the future soldier based on his or her scores on the Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test. The future soldier will then get to pick one of these jobs. Once all of this is done the future soldier will go to the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). While at MEPS they must pass the physical and mental examination, and then they will swear an oath and sign their contract. At this point, it is my duty to train the future soldier and have them ready for basic training by the time they
