Temple Grandin is a triumphant film about the incredible true story of a girl with autism whose unacknowledged smarts led her to become a professor and published writer. In the film, we see Temple’s behavior as a child, how her mother was blamed and told that Temple should be institutionalized. The viewer is shown the way that Temple views the world, in the form of sounds, pictures and angles. It shows her overcoming both internal aspects of her disease and external factors like bullying through high school, college, and post grad work. Temple has Autism, a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects social interaction and development.
As soon as the first chapter was read the book got more interesting. Haddon’s book is told from the point of view of 15-year-old Christopher Boone; a high functioning autistic child – also known as Asperger’s syndrome - who tries to solve the murder of his neighbors’ dog along with
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, written by Mark Haddon, tells the story of a young boy, Christopher Boone, who lives with Asperger’s Syndrome. By having Asperger’s Syndrome, the readers sympathise for Christopher as the struggles he has because of his disability are witnessed. Readers do not sympathise for others as they have all done wrong such as when Mr Shears sleeps with Christopher’s mother, and Mrs Shears sleeps with Christopher’s father. The author has positioned the reader to sympathise with Christopher in several ways. His inability to read other characters and their emotions, obsessive behaviour, and the fact he cannot touch anyone, are all things which encourage the reader to sympathise for Christopher.

This is ironic as many say that there is no right or wrong in this world but by categorizing them into right and wrong shows inconsistency action. This shows us that how the world wants the disables to fit the standard to become part of the society. Because as no one would accept him with his disability, Autism, the true himself. This shows the reason why the writer used these to connect with the theme of suffering due to
Ray points to the fact that ‘Christopher's environmental awareness - especially as evidenced through his views of language - create the foundation for the novel's critique of disability.’ This sheds light on how despite Haddon’s portrayal of the learning disability comes across, it is a multi-faceted disorder and its effects hold different weightings between those with it. As such, Haddon’s representation of Asperger’s syndrome is through a high-functioning character, allowing him to access such ‘views of language’ which are present throughout the novel. Autism, despite Haddon stating that ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime’ was not a book about autism, is considered by many to be a central aspect of the book. However, the fact that Haddon’s protagonist has a form of autism allows Haddon to take language into its simplest forms.
This essay puts forth the analysis of Mark Haddon’s novel the ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’ where the authors central themes and ideas of disability and difference are analysed through the novels perspective and language. The novel presents the protagonist as 15-year old boy, Christopher Boone, living in Swindon, England. Christopher's parents are separated, and he is being raised by his father. Christopher Boone, presents a social model of disability by challenging dominant society's treatment of him as "not normal. " Christopher is seemingly diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, although the novel never explicitly labels him as disabled in any way.

The first indicator of Asperger’s Syndrome is an intense obsession with one or two things. Psych Central which ranks number 2 in mental health-focused websites declares, “ An obsession is a recurring thought of something or someone, where it always seems to be in a person’s mind. Obsessions may be a passing occurrence or a long-term interest, and may or may not be uncomfortable experiences”(1). George and Lennie sit down and start to communicate their American Dream. Affects of Autism on family relations in the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time Mark Haddon’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time is a “murder mystery” about an autistic, fifteen year old boy named Christopher and his journey as he investigates the murder of his neighbour’s dog. Yet instead, he uncovers the truth about his family and his “dead” mother. By being a child with autism, Christopher struggles to have sustainable relationships with his family. While he keeps a relatively good relationship with his father, it deteriorates to very low terms.
Through the themes of subjectivity and logic that are presented within the novel, Haddon conveys a distinct worldview of an ASD protagonist that is dissonant to an individual of a neurotypical standpoint, thus inviting readers into expanding their understanding of neurodiversity. In The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Haddon explores the theme of subjectivity through Christopher Boone, the protagonist afflicted with ASD. In doing so, he illustrates an unfamiliar perspective in which the audience grows accustomed to and alters their perceptions of the environment surrounding them. From the beginning of the text, Haddon makes it clear that the novel will follow a highly unconventional narrator as seen in Christopher’s introduction of himself, “I know all the countries of the world and their capital cities and every prime number up to 7,507.”
Personal attitudes towards people with a disability would have strongly influenced the town of Endora’s behaviour to Arnie. Music played in the film was soft and may have been used to make the audience feel sympathy towards Arnie because he has a disability. However, Hallstrom’s analysis of people with autism cannot be completely accurate as in the film it never recognises that people with autism are highly intelligent in the creative field. Recent studies are shown that the way people perceive creativity and people with autism should be reconsidered. The research article concludes that the authors found that “Autistic people tend to be superior to non-autistic people in many tasks that require processing large amounts of information, picking out details of objects or scenes, or detecting changes in the environment.”
I choose this book as a personal curiosity as I have always wondered if I was a bit autistic. Throughout my life, I have been labeled as intellectually gifted, but emotionally challenged. As a child, I had anger issues and never had many friends, often socially awkward. So, I wanted to read a book to see how a person who does have autism was. I wanted to see if I had some of the same issues and complaints.
Christopher is a 15-year-old boy with an autism spectrum condition, which made him a clever and observant person. To start with I will first briefly describe the plot of the story, then I will share my thoughts and reflections about the story with you. The story starts with Christopher discovering the dead body of the neighbor’s dog, Wellington, and so he decided to investigate who was the murderer.

I had a wonderfull time with them playing soccer and playing videogames but time after time they have changed and all the innocence and tenderness that characterized them and they suddenly have changed for other persons that betrated me like if I were nothing to them so that was very traumatic and painfull
