Am I oppressed when my bare skin radiates as the hot Australian sun bounces off of it
Am I oppressed when my uncovered hair flows in the wind able to be seen by all
Or am I just oppressed based purely on the fact that I am a girl of the Islamic faith?

Are you afraid when you see a congregation of Muslims leaving their Friday prayers wearing thobes, hijabs or niqabs?
Are you afraid when you hear Abdul and Muhammad speaking their native tongue in plain view?
Are you afraid when you see that a family of Muslims is on your nonstop flight to Bali?
Could Islam justifiably invoke such a sense of fear?

Appalling accounts of bigotry suffered throughout a Muslims daily life have been surfacing at alarming rates. A fact sheet on the Parliament of Australia webpage found that Muslims are disproportionately believed to be terrorists, as well as being subject to discrimination of a xenophobic nature. I would just like to remind people that; my religion is not a religion of peace, nor is it a religion of destruction, oppression and barbarity. It is just a religion in which 1.7 billion people adhere to. My religion is not a punchline for your jokes. And my religion should definitely not be a determinant of whether or not we are allowed entry to a country. This of course is a reference to the refugee crisis and the increasing amounts of terrorist attacks which have left people thinking that a temporary ban on Muslims must be put into place.
