in 2004, former Prime Minister John Howard publicly supported iraq having a bill of rights but would not consider one for Australia. I respect John Howard for many things, but on this matter he failed us, failed freedom and revealed his disregard for a history of tyrants brutilizing the ordinary
" By altering the flag, we would be destroying the many memories that have gone with it. Is this really what you want for our country? Changing the flag may seem like the best option at first, but when you see the consequences that would follow with it, is it the best option? If the flag changed it would become very confusing not only for people in Australia but also for people visiting Australia and other people around the world. As stated from Flags Australia, “The current flag is already well known internationally and it its distinctive and attractive design is effective in promoting Australian identity overseas.”
Why has it been almost two hundred and fifty years since the arrival of the first fleet and no change in reconciliation is evident? Is this the country Aussies stand proud of? We must revise this hole in society, we can turn a new page in history and finally embrace our differences. We can remove this Berlin Wall.
Australia has been labelled as the country of mateship, fair-go and tolerance, but the mistreatment of Asylum seekers in Australia denies these values. In our anthem we sing “For those who’ve come across the seas, we’ve boundless plains to share”. It ironic isn’t it? As when Asylum seekers arrive in Australia we do not offer a hand of mateship instead we use punitive matters such as sending them to mandatory detention, which shows how xenophobia is manifested in Australia (Ariyawansa,

The flag lacks not only the ability to define us as a unique nation but is unidentifiable to others on the world stage. Good morning. I am William Vissenga and I am presenting to you on the behalf of the Australian Christian lobby, why our government should take control of the issue of reforming the marriage act and furthermore why a plebiscite should not be held. I ask you this, why do we vote every three years? The answer is simple, to choose a party that will form government. A government that will represent the people, a government that will hold the responsibility of making decisions on the behalf its people.
Australian Flag Hello, everyone today for my assignment I will be presenting my Australian flag design, I redesigned the flag so it could look this way because it still carries the symbolisation of the Queen and England by including the union jack. With having a new flag it will enable Australia to have a new flag that represents Australia and helps us create our own identity. My flag will take into account the aboriginal people heritage who were on this land before European settlers. I decided it would be best to keep the original Australian flag and use half of the aboriginal flag to show we are a multicultural nation and also since they were on this land before us they deserve acknowledgement and appreciation decided to use the sun and
For the first event of the year, the most important one. I choose the fifty year of the Canadian flag. It’s our flag, it’s our colors, it’s our country, it’s our nation and we are proud of it. Well, I am!
Greeting Greetings Government Officials, Fellow American Citizens, supporters of this successful, presidential campaign, my dear friends, and family. Today we don’t celebrate a victory, but we come together, united, to work towards one of many goals, closing the division of political views from both parties to help make our country safe and unified. State of the Nation We gather here today as one country, one nation, and one people, concerned about the state of our country. We all want a safe, pure, and unified environment for our future generations to grow up in.
Australia needs a new flag. Ever since 1788 when Australia was discovered by Captain Cook the flag has contained the Union jack, In the UK the Union Jack may be patriotic, it may stand for peace and union but here the union jack stands for disrespect, oppression and the killing of the original custodians of this land. I believe that it is time for a change, the UK has represented us for too long and with the union jack on or flag it only says that we still believe the old ways of when Captain cook first arrived and that nothing has changed, I believe we should finally change the flag so that we can fully represent and honour the custodians of our land.
Ladies and gentlemen, where should we start tonight. Should we Leave our beloved country of America, where over three hundred million of us colorfully, peacefuly, and freely are living from every God loving faith, as we wish to seek Him. Or should we travel to the other side of the planet in our beloved country of Afghanistan, where only one of us living in the capital of Kabul, as an Afghan Jew. Only one. Besides the loss of over two million Afghan muslim men, women and children, our Jewish brother and sisters along with eight million of us scattered around the world.
To all who can hear the sound of my voice, I urge each and every one of you to join me in establishing a union to contest the thought of becoming a nation that used imperialism as a way to develop our nation. He who believes that as an elected official he is above receiving the point of view from ordinary citizens is self-centered man and does not deserve the support of the people. Any man that has the audacity to send our military into harm’s way without the say of the United States citizens voting for such action is negligent in their duty to the American people. Furthermore, as a nation must understand that the effects of imperialism are not all advantageous as told by our government. As Christian people we must understand that forcefully
Right now, hundreds of refugees flee from their homes for safety, a better life, a better education, a better home, better jobs and many other reasons. For so long, refugees are still being treated like outsiders. They leave their countries even if it means leaving their families, jobs and everything else, bringing whatever they can with them. Even if it means leaving with an empty stomach, going through the cold and wet. They go through hardships, sufferings and they endure society’s negative treatments.
The Star Spangled Banner, a staple of sporting events and early school mornings, is played daily. A song that holds a deep meaning to the United States citizens, a second after the first chord chimes through the speakers, everyone stands in unison. Some mouth the words and feel the national spirit, while some stand, respectful of our nation’s history and rebellion against foreign powers. Students should understand that this national song holds significant importance. It signifies our history as a country, unparalleled to others throughout today's world.
