In the article “I Tried 4 To-Do List Methods”. Here’s What Worked.” written by Kelsey Alpaio is a very good tool for people that are in school or even work. First, they talked about the strategy of using a calendar instead of a list. They listed the pros and cons of this strategy.
Often many choices can be communicated and order to make a decision and avoid judgment (Weber & Johnson,
It tells you what to think and it blasts it in. It must be right. It seems so right. It rushes you on so quickly to its own conclusions your mind hasn’t time to protest.” (84).
Introverts, is what we call them. They don’t go outside. They’d much rather distract themselves with their phones and social media than deal with their problems. They’re too scared to deal with the outside world, so they don’t. Very similar to Mildred and her lifestyle.
Subconscious bias also plays a big role in the decisions made by Major
This theory tells us that people tend to make unconsciously preferences for something or someone if they have seen it previously. People make choices of things they consider familiar for them. They do not understand why they choose what they choose, or why they prefer this person over someone else. From my point of view, I consider that this theory also can be called as “subliminal exposure”. People get influenced by certain aspects without realizing they are doing so.
Deep sea mining is a relatively new mineral retrieval process that takes place on the ocean floor. in mining sites are usually an active and extinct hydrothermal vents at about 1,400 – 3,700 m below the ocean’s surface. The vents create sulfide deposits, which contain valuable metals such as silver, gold, copper, manganese. As with all mining operations, deep sea mining raises questions about potential environmental impact on surrounding areas.
The article “The Science of Shopping” written by New Yorker staff writer Malcom Gladwell, is based on retail anthropologist and urban geographer Paco Underhill. Underhill studies the shopping characteristics through frequently watched surveillance tapes to help store managers improve the setup of their goods and services. Through those footages he evaluated his observations and the statistics to help define his theories with the purpose to make sellers conform to the desires of the shoppers. Underhill, an insightful and revolutionary man, provides a view of science to displaying merchandise and creates a positive experience for both the buyer and seller. I agree that Underhill’s scientific theories; the Invariant Right, Decompression
Laziness is a trait that the human race possess by nature. That being said, people are most likely to search for the most economical ways to move about or do things (Oaklander, 2015). Similarly, when it comes to making judgments, human beings tend to look for the easiest and shortest ways possible. Such aspect of the human race is considerably heuristic, which can generally be defined as a cognitive rule of thumb that helps an individual to solve problems or make decisions in a quick and easy manner. According to Schneider, Gruman, and Coutts, it is common and automatic for people to use cognitive shortcuts when making judgments, in the processing of new information (2012).
In my family my mom is the complete opposite of those, she hates to clean, cook, and stay at the house all the time. She has a full time job and work very hard at it. She loves to go out and have fun with friends. Same goes with my sister she goes to college and is graduating next year. Both of them are very vocal of their opinions and would definitely not fit great in a society like

This gives the impression that such events occur more frequently than they actually do, also known as the illusion of the availability heuristic; when our perception of how

In fact, for the rest of her life, Kahlo did many very non-typical things. She became the first to attend a certain school where she became friends with many similar minded people in terms of intellect and politics. She became extremely politically active, joining groups such as the Young Communist league and the Mexican Communist party.
The book discusses the biases of our intuition. How we assume or accept certain things automatically and unconsciously without really thinking about them. It explains the capabilities, and faults and biases of System 1, and discloses the extensive influence of intuitive impressions on our thoughts and behavior. System 2 is slower, and is more logical, calculated, it involves reasoning, solving problems, concentrating, considering other data, and very important, not jumping to conclusions too quickly. This system comes into play when trying to solve a math problem, or choosing where to invest your money.
