In the article “I Tried 4 To-Do List Methods”. Here’s What Worked.” written by Kelsey Alpaio is a very good tool for people that are in school or even work. First, they talked about the strategy of using a calendar instead of a list. They listed the pros and cons of this strategy. One of the pros is that you will know when and how things will be done. One of the drawbacks, however, is that you may not realize that an assignment is due. The next thing that Alpaio listed was to make a list, but only do one thing at a time. Dopamine is a good thing because it will make you want to do more and more tasks off the list. The last type of list that Alpaio suggested was to make 3 lists. The first list is the today's list. This list should consist of the most important things that need to be done. The second list is the non-time sensitive list. This list is things that you need to get done, but with no urgency at the moment. The last list is the not to do list. The purpose of this list is to list the things that you want to get done, but there is no urgency whatsoever to do them when you have nothing else to get done. The article written by Alpio is a great tool because it helps you with multiple ways to become organized. The first way that it helps is that it provides many different ways to create a to-do list. Alpio does a great job explaining to the reader that a to-do list can help in many ways. I feel Alpio did a great job formatting the section headers. It makes it very simple to make it to the type of list that you want. Another takeaway that I had was the ability of the writer to hook you into the different types of to-do lists.
