The Marvel franchise is generating a sensation that is quickly capturing the general public into its web. Its style of telling stories is revolutionary. Marvel has spanned their story over twelve movies, three television shows, and much more in production. However, there are a lot of similarities and differences between the movies, “Avengers” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, and its television adaptation, “Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D.”. Avengers is set in a fictional universe called the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It follows the lives of six individuals who each acquired special abilities and/ or super powers through various events. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson, takes the place of S.H.I.E.L.D. director from Nick Fury during his hiatus at the end of the first Avengers film but Nick Fury makes a few cameos to create tie-in stories with the actual film series it is based off. Acting director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Phil Coulson, makes his own team of skilled agents and operatives, just like Nick Fury did in Avengers, to investigate several strange cases that have surfaced because of the Avengers debut to the world. S.H.I.E.L.D., otherwise known as Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate, is a essentially a teaser for the actual film series to keep fans happy while they excitedly wait for the next Marvel film to premiere. The series tells the story of the Avengers through the eyes of people effected by the Battle of New York. It gives Marvel a more realistic sense; by the action being toned down quite a bit, a darker tone is created, and it focuses more on the actual storylines Marvel had developed instead of the normally aggressive scenes associated with Marvel. The series starts to relate even more to the movies right before the initial release of the second movie in order to keep the story lines similar and audiences content with the flow between
