I have always had a passion for music. Ever since I heard stories of my cousin’s playing violin at the Royal Academy of Music or becoming music producers I have known that I wanted to follow in the same path as them. Music has also added another dimension to my life as it has allowed me to become confident and determined. It has allowed me to attend corporate events where I have met many business owners and event organisers and was able to gain advice and knowledge from them to help my future career. My own study of musicians has helped me to use a variety of lexis in my writing and understand different cultures through their musical stories. For this reason I believe that studying a Music Business course at BIMM will prove to be both exciting and beneficial in terms of allowing me to study something that I want to follow further than just education.
Something that I have done to follow this interest is organised my own gigs which were all very successful in terms of the amount of people who I was performing to. I am currently in the process of organising a new year’s event at a local club which would involve around 400-500 people.

One thing I have taken away from this is the importance of deadlines. Having something to work towards is crucial because although sometimes small, it can put you under pressure and means you work harder to achieve something. My study in Media at A Level is beneficial to me here because the skills I have acquired from being organised and planning I was able to transfer to this. It also helped me in terms of planning for photoshoots which is something I had to organise in real life for the EP.
