When a young adult makes a decision about the career they plan to pursue, it is vital that the decision be based on a foundation that reflects their morals, ethics, life experiences, and overall skills. A career however, involves so much more than a paycheck - a career should be your passion. Performing arts is, and always has been something that I have been very passionate about. Throughout my schooling, grades K-12, I have been involved in many different areas of performing arts such as: Band and Theatre. Music Education as a career choice, was not a recent decision for me, but rather has been on my mind and in my heart since my earliest years. Music has made such a positive impact on my life, that I want to share my passion for the arts with many others.

Not only has my participation in these activities helped me perfect my craft, but they have helped me to become a more well rounded individual. By participating in these activities, I have been able to realize why music education is the best career choice for me. While I have been blessed to have had the arts in my life, I am highly aware that for most students, this is not an option. Sadly, the East Texas area has lost much of our industry over the past few years. With this loss of income within our area, many parents are not able to afford private lessons or fine arts camps. The low socio-economic makeup creates an even greater need to foster the arts within the public school setting. It is my desire to instill the love of the arts within every student despite their economic or societal standing. For those that may be struggling to make ends meet, or those that come from an unstable home life; music, theater and art may be the outlet that can turn their life
