When Ruth was a kid, he was dirty, poor, and alone. He grew up with his parents, but he got sent to an orphanage because of his bad behavior. He learned many things at St.Marys including how to make shirts, basic education, and most importantly how to play baseball. He made many connections with the people around him, but the biggest one was Brother Matthias. Matthias was the one who taught Ruth the ins and outs of the game. Later on in Ruth's career he would repay Matthias for what he had done for him with a car. From then on he made the major leagues shortly after and played for the New York Yankees, Boston Red Socks, and Boston Braves in a career which ran from 1914 to 1935.
