In Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet fell in love hours after the meeting and were married in days. These decisions were caused by the adolescence in their brains that blocked out all the flaws. Romeo’s bad decisions were made because his brain is not fully developed, caused by the dopamine in his brain, adolescence and his crush on Juliet, and his impulsivity. Just like Romeo, all teenagers are so impulsive they never think before acting. In Act 3, Scene 1 of William Shakespeare's play "Romeo and Juliet," Romeo exclaims in anguish, "O, I am fortune's fool!" (3.3.12-14) Romeo says this in Shakespeare's play "Romeo and Juliet," after he has been exiled from Verona for murdering Juliet's relative Tybalt. Romeo's remark underlines the severity of his punishment by claiming that being banished from his family and house is more terrifying than dying. Romeo reacts to his punishment of banishment by wishing for death instead, displaying his impulsive and melodramatic nature. Romeo would rather be dead than not be with Juliet. “Crushes have more to do with fantasy than with reality” (Pickhardt 1) This indicates that rather than a person's actual qualities or characteristics, the feelings and emotions associated with a crush are frequently based on an idealized version of the person. Romeo’s crush was more of a fantasy than reality, he believed they were meant to be when in reality they don’t even know each other well.
