School administrators should not be allowed to ban books because it’s a fundamental right and books teach us the reality of the world.

The first censoring happened in 1487 by Pope Innocent VIII. This has been a problem for a long time. Today, people censor books for a lot of things, so it’s hard to write a book within these guidelines. There is a lot of challenging a year occurring in many places, but the majority of it comes from our own schools. When a person challenges a book, they are saying they don’t like what the book is saying. Are these reasons good or bad? That varies on who you are. Does banning books go against the first amendment? Even if a school bans a book, kids will always be able to find it someplace else. Is this the “modern version of book burning” (Cavna, 2), or is it perfectly okay? In most schools, when it comes to teaching books, it’s a battle between the parents and the teachers. Most teachers are good about substituting a different book in if the student or parent has an issue with the book they're reading in
