Night is a book that has a very strong theme that I believe strong hearted reads would really enjoy. Night describes the life of a young Jewish man Going through the hardships of the holocaust and every struggle that went along with such a hardship. The author Elie Wiesel describes how the struggles of the intense work camps, the low rations that they were given to eat and the continuous beatings that were force upon his people. I believe that this book is intended for a mature audience. It describes many graphic and gruesome scenes that a child should not b introduced to.
Dear Governor Abbot, Imagine a society where history is rewritten in a constant loop. After analyzing and reading Clemantine Wamariya’s “I Remember Night: Remembering Elie Wiesel”, not only has it opened my eyes, but Wamariya states that Night had opened her eyes too and helped her understand a genocide that took place in her country that she wasn’t even aware of. I fear that this could become a resulting issue if we don’t properly enlighten children about the significance of genocide. As a student and a young adult, who believes in societal improvement, I advocate for the teaching of major historical events through books like “Night” to prevent future genocides and events like the Holocaust.
Elie Wiesel’s Night should not be banned from the book list for ninth grade because it is a book that teaches very important lessons despite the fact that it contains violent scenes. The book shows that we should treat people in a good way even if they are not like us. It reveals the horrible consequences of inhumanity, the meaningless suffering and unbearable pain of innocent people. These reasons show that the book is very important for the grown-ups because it deals with fundamental questions about humanity and moral values.
I have enjoyed reading the book Night, by Elie Wiesel. Elie Wiesel is a concentration camp survivor, who is using this piece of literature to break free from the silence that has surrounded the holocaust. Reading Night makes me feel as though I have been transported back in time during World War 2, in the middle of a concentration camp. It isn’t a wonderful place to be, but it is a special experience. The way that Wiesel portrays childhood in Night is cold.
I think Night should stay on Mrs. Avila’s book report list because this is a book that more students need to read because Elie Wiesel and other holocaust survivor’s stories should be remembered so history won’t repeat itself. I didn’t like that Night left me with many questions, like did Eliezer ever completely restore his faith in God, what happened to his leg after undergoing an operation, why wasn’t his sisters and mother mentioned ever again, I also wanted to know if Eliezer ever has a bright light in the future. If you believe the world is all sunshine’s and rainbows, your whole view on life is about to change. Night opened my eyes, the world is not perfect. There is evil people in this world.
Dear school board, I believe night should not be banned because it is a true story about a boy going through things we could never imagine. We need to know about things like that because that is history and we need to know the history or we would all be walking around clueless knowing nothing. The holocaust is a big topic and shouldn't be banned at all. We cannot ban Night By Elie Wiesel because you have to understand the author's point of view and the character's point of view.
Night is too graphic for middle school students, you might say. But you are missing that it is supposed to be graphic, it's supposed to be sad and depressing, it's supposed to make you feel disgusted because it's about the Holocaust and a survivor's story. The holocaust was a loathsome event that affected millions upon millions of people and it should not be forgotten. Even though some people believe that books should be banned because of the spread of false information and explicit content; however, books shouldn’t be banned because it may cause ignorance and it limits perspective. If the book Night is banned it can cause ignorance in kids. Based on chapter 1, it shows the beginning of what Elie is going through like how when the Hungarian police were acting all nice until suddenly they became aggressive when transporting Jews to the ghettos. It is a common assumption among numerous people in the world that the Holocaust never existed. In fact, almost fifty percent of the world population never even heard of the Holocaust. Elie Wiesel helped people around the world learn about the Holocaust through his book “Night.” He wanted people to see the bravery, courage, and guilt of the Jews through his book. “Night” shows the horrific and malicious acts in the German concentration camps during the Holocaust.
My mom used to tell me “If kids don’t learn about topics in history then they will never understand the true meaning of it.” In Elie Wiesel’s book “Night” he talks about the many brutal things that were happening in concentration camps at the time of World War I. Dear School Board Members of the Make Believe Isd, I am writing to express my opinion regarding the proposed ban on the book "Night" by Elie Wiesel. As a concerned member of the community, I strongly believe that "Night" should not be banned from our school curriculum. "Night" is a powerful and thought-provoking memoir that provides a firsthand account of the Holocaust. It is a story that needs to be told, especially in the context of our modern world where discrimination and hatred are still prevalent. Banning this book would be a disservice to our students, who deserve to learn about the atrocities of the past so that they can work towards creating a better future.
Some believe that Night should restrict its availability because of the large amount of violence and death; however, disallowing the restriction of these topics in our high school gives the reader a chance to discover the history behind the Holocaust and provides the reader a chance to read the book through a different point of view.
Is it not perplexing to think about what the Holocaust was like? Elie Wiesel knows from first hand experience. He survived in a concentration camp and was freed by American troops after about a year. Wiesel recounted his experiences in his memoir Night. Students should continue to read Night because the anecdote shows what the Holocaust was like, it shows many of the historical events of World War II as they relate to the concentration camps and many important aspects of Jewish culture.

During my eighth grade year in my honors English class, we had to read a novel based on the events that occurred during the Holocaust. I decided on Elie Wiesel’s Night. Wiesel captured his life living as a Jewish follower and his journey through the wretched train car rides and backbreaking work in concentration camps at only fifteen years old. While I was fourteen during the time I had read his novel, it made me realize that Wiesel’s life was on the line, one wrong move and he could be executed at any moment.
