Barack Obama
“If you're walking down the right path and you're willing to keep walking, eventually you'll make progress” (Business Insider).These words are spoken by Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States, born in 1961, a very passionate man and a great inspiration to many people around the country. Barack Obama struggled with poor grades and drug abuse in high school but went on to get accepted into Harvard Law School, and started to get his life together with his successes from there on out.
Throughout Obama's younger years in life he struggled with family issues because his father died when he was only two years old and his mom was single, trying to feed and support their family by herself. He struggled with poor grades because he wasn't always as focused as he should have been since he was so focused on his family life; he got himself involved with drugs to ease his pain and confusion. Because he went to a prestigious private school in high school, he felt self-conscious. He fought to fit in, and he put himself in these negative, bad situations to try and find himself. Obama graduated from Punahou and went on to Occidental College in Los Angeles where he decided to get serious about his studies. Midway through he transferred to the Columbia University in New York City, Where he earned his undergraduate in political science. He also began to explore his African roots, and soon traveled to meet his relatives in Kenya for the first time. (Barack Obama, 2). In 1988, Barack Obama enrolled to Harvard Law School and excelled as a student and soon went on to become the president of the Harvard Law Review, the school’s journal focusing on legal issues.
