`The mission of the Barry university can be portrayed as “In the true tradition of Catholic intellectual, at Barry university education means incorporation of study, expression and action enlighten the academic life. Barry University endeavors to foster individual and communal transformation where knowledge and truth are led by learning, informed action is the result of reflection, and the reason for collaborative service is a commitment to social justice[b1] .” (Barry.edu, 2015) The mission articulated by Adrian Dominican Sisters provides a base for the core commitments of the Barry University. (Barry.edu, 2015) They are: Knowledge and Truth, a nurse at Barry University pursues critical analysis of elementary questions of the human experience furthering them towards a lifelong scholarly growth and development. Inclusive Community, Barry University supports and endorses a universal, inclusive community illustrated by dignity and equality, interdependence, reverence and understanding for self and others. Intellectual, cultural and social diversity of faculty, management staff, and students is valued highly. Social Justice, the University encourages and supports social justice via teaching, service and research. This leads a nursing student to recognize and believe in social responsibility.
