I like your post and your comments on the fact that Bartleby has given up on himself and on life. At first, I thought Bartleby's actions were very weird and definitely odd. Like his employer, I did not know what to make of him (Bartleby). If I was his employer, I would be taken back by his response "I prefer not to...." What do you mean by saying something like that and what are the reasons for saying such things? I do agree with your comment that Wall Street is a place where you have to do what you are told to do.
