As baseball is considered to be a great American past time, football is our present time. Many similarities and differences appear to the fans who watch these two sports. Most people think football is a sport that is rugged and dirty while baseball is simple and clean. Football and baseball are both All-American sports. Between the players, mindset, and amount of games there are known differences but also some unknown. As far as Major League rosters go there are multiple nationalities and countries represented in the National Football League(NFL) and Major League Baseball(MLB). In the MLB only 26.5%, which is 230 out of 868, were born out of the United States of America. Seventeen territories and countries are represented, with the Dominican Republic leading with 83 players on the MLB rosters. As far as football goes the quarterback has to know what angle and speed to throw the football in order to get a complete pass. Running backs have to decide which route is the quickest to get to the spot the play has decided for them or to get the down/touchdown. Wide receivers use their speed to get past the defenders. For baseball each player has to determine the speed of the ball and its placement to get the perfect hit, to get on base or to get a homerun. If a player wants to steal a base he has to know how fast he can run from base to base, how fast the pitch will be, and how fast the catcher will react to him stealing if the batter does not get the hit.
