Observing The 3-5 Room With Only 6 Children

Due to summer holiday it was a very quiet day in the 3-5 room with only 6 children present. The room was set out and there were lots of experiences for the children. One child was quite demanding for adult attention. If he wasn’t getting this he would then increasingly act inappropriately until he got attention. Other children were happily engaged and he would then want to be involved in what they were doing. Due to past incidents the children were not always responsive to this and were happy to play together.

Through observing the child it became apparent that he wasn’t focused on any of the resources or experiences available and didn’t stay anywhere for too long, however it was clear that he was very articulate and is very capable of
