Before I started college, I would only drink soda every now and then. Since I started college two years ago, I have noticed a huge increase in the amount of soda I drink per day. I have noticed I feel sluggish and have gained weight. I also get severe headaches if I do not drink soda daily. I know drinking even one soda a day is bad for my health. I would like to limit the amount of soda I drink daily to a lower amount. I have developed a behavior management plan for myself to accomplish this goal. I will use an abundance of different assessment procedures. First, I will incorporate direct and indirect assessment of my soda drinking habit. I will observe myself (direct) and how many cans of soda I drink per day. My roommate will also observe the number of cans of soda I drink …show more content…
I do not want to give myself too little time to complete the goal or too much time because I am likely to give up if I do not see results. I will be using a fading procedure since I am gradually reducing the amount of soda each day. I will implement the program and my roommate will help me stay on track. Another way I plan to help myself stay on track is use a mixture of positive, intrinsic, and natural reinforcers. If I stay on track with my program for the first week, I will reward myself with purchasing a few stickers that I have been wanting to put on my laptop (positive reinforcement). The main reason I wanted to start this behavior program was because I knew drinking large amounts of soda was bad for my health. Therefore, I will also be implementing intrinsic reinforces. By no longer drinking large amounts of soda, I will not be as tired and feel better about myself for kicking this bad habit. Lastly, the chances of loosing weigh from cutting soda from my diet is rather high. Natural reinforcers will come into play here, such as my friends complementing on how good I look since I have lost weigh from this
