FLORENCE— Florence-Carlton Schools observe the Montana Behavioral Initiative (MBI) universals: be safe, be responsible, and be respectful. MBI is a proactive approach to encouraging a social culture that develops behavioral and academic success for all students. With the help of faculty advisors Mrs. Kirby, Mrs. Bristow, Ms. Golding, and Mrs. Smart, student leader James Clark has successfully established a club which champions these ethics. The Respect Club of Florence-Carlton is working to build the level of respect toward all individuals in the school community and empower the student body to get involved.

I agree, a counselor must be knowledgeable in treating abuse victims. Also, the counselor should be skilled in several techniques, because using only one technique might not be as helpful. In addition, the counselor needs to understand the context, which the abuse occurred, because there might be other deficits (Gladding, 2015). Therefore, by the counselor being skilled and different techniques in treating abuse, will allow them treating other issues. When working with a victim of abuse, the counselor should have a safely plan for the victim.
Behavior Modification Project Part Three Over the semester, I identified a behavior I wanted to change, implemented and followed a treatment plan to stop biting my nails and engaging in nail biting behavior (NBB). I used various techniques to stop the aversive behavior including, using nail polish designated for nail biters, using a rubber band as positive punishment, and a behavior monitoring system to keep track of all undesired behaviors. I also attempted to change the environment that caused me to engage in NBB. Along this journey, I learned more about myself and adapted some new behaviors. My goal was to have more attractive finger nails.
Since the students are learning at different levels, I work with each one to achieve academic skills; in addition to recognizing issues, encouraging socialization and independence. Also, I have earned the title as a Registered Behavioral Technician through training, exams, and BCBA observations. Applied Behavior Analysis is very useful while managing behaviors that interfere with learning. I am invested in knowing the needs, weaknesses, strengths, and fears of all the students.
Carla A behavior intervention plan (BIP) is a plan that’s designed to teach reward positive behaviors. This can help prevent for stop problem behaviors in school. The BIP is based on the results of the FBA. The BIP describes the problem behavior, the reason the behavior occurs and the intervention strategies that will address the problem behavior. A BIP can help a child to learn problem solving skills and find better ways to respond in a situation.
This helps the building leaders get a better idea of who the students are, who may need more support. This data is looked at quarterly. Oftentimes, if a student demonstrates one of these behaviors that results in that student having to be removed from the classroom three times or more in a quarter, that student is then referred to be put on the district PBIS check in and check out plan. The incident and behavior reports are all recorded in our online student information system called Teacherease. During my time completing the hours under my building leader, there were two meetings where the supervisor played as the mediator in resolving the conflict.
After observing the clients behavior, it is evident that she has a problem limiting her excessive cellular device usage. Therefore, the behavioral intervention plan will be targeting the client’s cellular device usage in class, as well as outside of class. The plan will be targeting all cellular device usage, which includes playing games, texting, scrolling though social media sites, and finally listening to music. To prevent the client from using her phone during lectures, the behavioral plan instructed her professors to make her write an essay whenever she is using her phone.
Response to Intervention (RTI): A Guide for Family Members and Staff Developed for use in k-5 schools Purpose: This guide will outline the “what”, “where”, “who”, “why”, and “how”s of RTI. What is Response to Intervention (RTI)? Response to Intervention (RTI) is an educational model, designed for use in both general education and special education,to advance educational outcomes for all students and aids struggling students by focusing on how students respond to individualized intervention.
“Response to Intervention (RTI) is a multi-tier approach to the early identification and support of students with learning and behavior needs” (Werts et al. 2014, p.1). RTI identifies students, through progress monitoring of the instructional objectives, who need interventions, whether it is in reading, writing or mathematics. The idea is that if the intervention is early enough, then the student will be less likely to fall too far behind. RTI is for all students and the intervention they get is based off of a three-tier system. RTI has both benefits and barriers, but the benefits seem to outweigh the barriers.
Coming into the U450 class on the very first day, I was prepared for notes and learning specifically about the RA position and what it entails, but instead I learned more about myself and what drives me. I didn’t learn techniques about the job instead I maximized my capability of communication, being vulnerable can help people understand you better, and I was able to reach another level of trust in others. On the day where we all sat down and told each other about something that had deeply impacted us, I didn’t know if I could do it at first but hearing other stories allowed me have this mutual trust with my advisors and classmates I couldn’t of previously imagined. Previously, being vulnerable and showing the difficulties of my life, I saw
