October 2nd, 2002 was the start of a long and horrific three weeks in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. People were terrified to be in the area and everyone was on edge. What appeared to be random killings, turned out to be a well-organized series of senseless shootings that took the lives of ten innocent people. After days of people being scared to death and much confusion, investigators discovered that there were two suspects in the shootings; John Allen Muhammad and his teenage partner Lee Boyd Malvo and they were in a blue 1990 Chevrolet Caprice sedan designed to terrorize people. Each of the two stories have many likenesses and differences, in addition to focusing on the three same ideas. These three ideas are war, brotherhood, and regret. The war in “The Sniper” is an actual war.

The intelligent and strategic sniper has to protect his life by killing others, and even though his brother dies because of this he was correct in his decision to kill. The sniper enjoys very much his job and is willing to fight for the republican side,“They were deep and thoughtful, the eyes of a man who is used to looking at death.” (O’flaherty, 2). This shows that the sniper is committed to the job he is required to perform. He knows he is always exposed to death and is never safe, so he always uses his critical thinking and strategic planning to get out of a dangerous situation.

The Shooter was my choice of movie, by Mark Wahlberg made in 2007. The movie is about ex- marine sniper who decided he wanted to live in an isolated environment after being discharge from the marines. The opening scene was designed to lure the sniper, named Swagger back into the secret service agency to show them different methods on how the President of United States can be assassinated. The main objective that Colonel Johnson, who was a soldier in special operations and who was the bad guy trying to use the sniper Swagger as a fall guy in a secretive operation. In the opening scene it was without a doubt that Swagger was a military marksman’s highly skilled and of great honor and it was established from the beginning.

While she was alive, he never had any other wives, but would later have ten.
