Bentley Research Paper

The history of Bentley goes back a long ways, the company in a whole has been through many things but have always came back strong. It all started in 1919, Two brothers with a vision, that vision was to make a car that was sleek, modern, sexy and fast enough to break records worldwide.They started that dream by buying a small french car company called, Lecoq and Fernie, soon after they bought it, they renamed it Bentley and Bentley. WIth their new business in full swing, they were just in the business of airplane engines and parts, it was perfect timing considering the need for airplanes and airplanes parts were in full swing. As the need for airplane parts diminished, so did their profits,so to keep from going bankrupt, they switched to something else, automobiles. After years of designing and testing, Bentley and Bentley finally did it, they had their own version of an automobile, with all original parts to Bentley and Bentley. The automobile was made available to the public in 1921,and was an instant success, but still had a long ways to in todays

Shortly after their first car was in production, it was entered in the brooklands race in 1921, their design carried them all the way to a First place win in the brooklands 1921 automobile race. After the race, the brothers were riding on top of the world, thinking no one could stop them. They were so confident in their car, that they entered in a even bigger race, the Indianapolis 500 in 1922. The car barely qualified for a last place prize, with this news the brothers were depressed, ready to give up. But it wasn't over yet, the next year in the Indianapolis 500, a privately owned Bentley car finished in Fourth, this did not just only boost the brothers spirits, but put Bentleys name out there, telling people what the Bentley and Bentley company were all
