Dear Jury Members: Mr. David Eldridge should be found guilty of the crime of murdering Mr. Armes. David Eldridge had a motive to murder Mr. Armes. David Eldridge is also the only one who could’ve committed the murder and stolen the recipe. The defense has presented many witnesses with little evidence that they could have committed this murder and stolen the recipe, and the only person who has multiple pieces of evidence against them is Mr. David Eldridge. To begin, many people testified that David Eldridge had a motive to kill Mr. Armes. According to Sandy Smith, David Eldridge needed money. Mrs. Smith and Mr. Eldridge said that he was denied a raise by Mr. Armes. This shows that David Eldridge had a motive to kill Mr. Armes and was angry at him, causing him to commit cold-blooded murder. In addition, David Eldridge is the only person who could have murdered Mr. Armes. According to the Police Investigator, there were no signs of forced entry, and Mr. Armes and David Eldridge were the only ones with a key. David Eldridge’s fingerprints were found on the metal spatula used to kill Mr. Armes, and he is the only person other than the man who was killed who knew the code to the safe. The defense tried to incriminate Mrs. Barbara Wheeler by saying that she released a recipe after Mr. Armes's death similar to the Super Burger recipe, but the recipe was not found on her property. William Warden was not at the restaurant at the time of the murder, but near it. Under oath, Mrs. Wheeler said that she did not steal the recipe, and it was not the same as Mr. Armes's Super Burger recipe.
