There is reasonable doubt because of the evidence that Mr. Bennet had poison on his hands from unknowingly kneeling down and touching the coffee, and the poison that was used is only available to exterminators, there are other witnesses that aren't trustworthy. Which helps prove the point that he in fact did not know there was poison in the drink. Also, the poison that was used is only available to exterminators. The police investigator stated that the poison was only available to exterminators. How would Mr. Bennet get a hold of the poison if it's only available to exterminators? In addition, there are witnesses that aren't trustworthy. Mr. Alfero and Mrs. Reed were both seen at the party together and Mr. Aldreo barely knew Mr. Adams and showed up because Mrs. Reed wanted him there. Mrs Reed also believed she would inherit the will of Mr Adams. Which may have been a motive for her killing Mr. Adams. Also, Mr. Alfero was an exterminator and had access to the poison that was used to kill Mr. Adams. Mr. Alfero prepared Mr. Adams a cup of coffee and could have poisoned it. This shows how there are other suspects in the case, so there is no defiant way to say Mr Bennet is guilty. Finally, in conclusion, Mr. Bennet is not guilty of the murder of Mr. Adams.
