Betty White once said, “Everybody needs a passion. That’s what keeps life interesting. If you live without passion, you can go through life without leaving any footprints,” (White). Betty White lived her life with passion, and she unquestionably left many footprints both figuratively and literally. Betty White lived an impressive 99 years. During those many years, she was involved in a lot of movements with contributions from tiny to enormous. She is an inspiration to anyone who studies her life. While starring in the sit-com, Life With Elizabeth, the Smithsonian National Museum of American History curator said, “le White broadened the typical range and role of the ditzy housewife character with a winking self-awareness and proto-feminist irreverence,” (Lintelman). Betty White didn’t portray herself as dumb in these films. Although she did not portray herself as dumb she was however portrayed as witty. She had a very soft spot in her heart for animals and she donated a lot of her time and resources to help animals in need. She supported organizations such as American Humane and Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association. She was on the board of directors for the American Humane Society. While on the board, she supported the “No Animals Were Harmed” program (Betty White Biography). Betty White’s work with the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association was also very significant. The Zoo’s president said, “Her work with the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association spans more than five decades, and we are grateful for her enduring friendship, lifelong advocacy for animals, and tireless dedication to supporting our mission,” (Tom Jacobson).
