Introduction Being a Christian in a public school and working as a school counselor can be challenging. As a school counselor there will be students who will have questions about life. Some questions in counseling that students can bring up is what their purpose is here on earth, why do things happen. Being a school counselor who is a Christian in a public school, it is hard to answer those questions especially if the student does not have the same belief systems and the rules and regulations on to answer those questions. A school counselor should be acknowledgeable of other religion as well. They will be students with different religion. Understanding the biblical worldview, requires an understanding of what the world view is and to determine how the bible would develop that view. Biblical thinking applies to all areas of life. It’s built on the Word of God, which shapes one’s perception of life and thinking with the mind of Christ (Dockery, 2021). Having a biblical worldview and applying knowledge of the bible can help an individual form how they make sense of life. Which is an important role in students’ lives. Christian in the public school system can have difficult time following their beliefs when teaching. Teachers who have a Christian philosophy approach to education from a perspective of a Christian biblical worldview can influence students. Educator’s and school counselor’s that have a Christian philosophy can teach Christian ideas in students to help with character development. It essential for an educator to understand each student and guide them to God’s mission in life (Barlett, 2007). The Christian philosophy of education would value a student’s future and prepare them for life and will see this as a part of their duty.
Educators who live through a Christ – centered values and has a biblical worldview can develop a Christian philosophy of education. Educators can do this by having a relationship with God and understand his word. This way they can show others Christ in the way they live their daily lives. Educators with a biblical worldview will reflects the image of God in all that they do (Graham, 2009).
