Bigma’s Backyard

One of my favorite places to go to during the summer is to my grandmother's house, and specifically to her beautifully vast backyard. We visit my maternal grandmother every summer and I get to explore her enthralling backyard more every time. My grandmother lives in a small town and it is very rural. The backyard is about half an acre of fairytale-green grass and willowy trees. There is a lot to do and see in my grandmother’s, or “Bigma” as we like to call her, backyard.

One of the most interesting things to see in the sun-kissed backyard are the different types of flowers and plants that grow wild or that Bigma plants. For example, a few tiny white flowers grow throughout the lawn, they emit the fresh, clean scent of flowers. I like to pick them with the lush clovers and make mini bouquets. My older siblings and I like to have competitive races on the bikes or sometimes we just leisurely pedal around the yard. My younger siblings spend hours swinging and playing on the swingset.
