Internal consultant have the opportunity to make recommendation and ensure that they are followed through. This does offers long term success within the company. They can practice proactive planning. The Disadvantages of an internal consultant is they can be ambiguity, due to the lace of defining his role in the company and having a problem finding out who they report their suggestion. The internal consultant should also not rock the boat, the consultant often gets involved in the company politics and this manly when an external consultant comes in to be objectively as possible. The advantages of the external consultant is establishing a reputation and having the best plan of action for their client’s company. The external consultant can remain objective, due to working with other companies this broadens their perspective on the situation at hand.
