1. Why are you applying to live in this specialty community? Please describe how any previous activities or experiences have contributed to your interest in living in this specialty community. As a Biomedical Engineering major with an intended minor in Biology, I wish to live in the Engineering Floor in Myles Standish Hall. I can see myself fitting in and contribute to the Engineering living community. As a member of the Water Transportation & Collection Tech Team in BU Engineers without Border (EWB), I could connect easily with many fellow engineers who are also members of the EWB. Name any activities, events, programs, or projects that you would like to see this specialty community take part in. How would your suggestion(s) contribute to the mission of this particular specialty community? I would love to see a “study group matching” project to be created in the Engineering community. This project would create a system for engineering students to form study groups for the specific courses of their interests. One student coordinator could be selected for each group, who would inform their RA the groups’ weekly meeting location and time. The RA would then send out weekly updates to the rest of the Engineering community, so that anyone in the community was able to join the study group that interests him or her. This project will directly help the residents of the Engineering community to improve academically. It will also help Engineers to meet and become close to their peers, even with their busy schedules. 3. Please state the qualifying characteristics (academic courses, experiences, involvement, etc.) that make you eligible for this specialty community.
