Elie Wiesel was one of the people who survived this tragic event and wrote Night to bring attention and to inform about how it happened. The book Night is a nonfiction book about how Elie Wiesel lived in the town of Sighet as a child and was put into a concentration camp. He was put in a concentration camp because he is Jewish and was growing up during World War 2, when Hitler ordered the extermination of all Jewish people. This book is well written and fits all of my criteria for what makes a book worth reading.
The book called “Night” is a great book to read about survival of the fittest. The book was written by a man named Elie Wiesel and was about his experience during the Holocaust. His book has some interesting parts about how he and other Jews saw the Holocaust before and after they were taken to concentration camps. Before the Jews were taken to the camps, they thought that since the war was so far away and was going to end soon, they were safe. That soon changed because they had the chance to run and hide, but did not take it.
Through out Night, Eliezer and his father Shlomo go through many obstacles that bring them emotionally farther and closer away from each other. During this horrifying time, Elie talks about the sickening events that happen and how they affect the relationship with his farther. In the beginning, Elie and his farther have much respect for each other and by the end of the book, the relationship turned into an emotionless feeling of guilt and burden. The concentration camp took a great toll on their relationship.

Elie and his father are basically the main characters in this book since in the concentration camps men were separated from women and we didn’t hear about his sister and mother again.

Summary: Night by Elie Wiesel takes place in 1944 in the village of Sighet, Transylvania (Romania). Elie is fifteen years old and his instructor Moshe the Beadle returns after a near death experience to warn him of nazis that are coming to threaten the lives of everyone in the village (I personally would’ve tried to run rather than just wait for the nazis to come). During their deportation the third day at midnight everyone in the village saw flames rising knowing it was the nazis. Everyone was petrified except Elie and his family who amazingly were calm and collected(I find it quite peculiar that they can remain calm and collected at a time like that). The people in the village and Elie all knew what the future was going to bring to them and

In such a cruel place such as the one they were in, it is deemed to be impossible. Even though Elie’s connection to God was strong, it was still broken. So many traumatic events happened at the camp, it is almost impossible to keep track of them all. Being forced to witness all these horrible things everyday, with no sign of God made Elie question if there even is one. If there was a God he’d be trying to help the innocent Jews escape or at least something, and if he was not then should he even be regarded as one, was Elie’s view on the whole situation.
